I have read with amazement the number of German Officers that have been identified by members of the forum based soley on medal braces. I was wondering if anyone colud do the same for a Austrian Officer with the EKII, three Austrian Bravery Medals and Two Turkish Bravery Medals on one Brace? If not, can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Originally posted by Glenn2438To be perfectly honest I very much doubt it, especially if he did not continue to serve after WW1. Foreign awards are not listed in wartime lists and he would have to be a serving regular Bundesheer Officer to be listed in the postwar lists. Add to this the fact that the first full postwar Schematismus was not published until the mid/late twenties and I think the task is pretty hopeless.

The medal brace is in the German style not the mounted tri-fold ribbons with a Hindenburg Cross, so I'm thinking that this officer probably joined the Wehrmacht after the Anschluss. Could this help?
