I know that prior to 1870 that Germany did not exist as a county. The area that was to make up Germany were a collection of kingdoms and pricipalities. My question is in 1914 what territories were disignated kingdoms and had a ruler that carried the title of King. I know there was Prussin with Kaiser Wilhelm II, but what others were there and what was the Kings name.

In 1914:
Prussia - Wilhelm II, Deutscher Kaiser und König von Preussen
Bavaria - Ludwig III, König von Bayern
Saxony - Friedrich August III, König von Sachsen
Württemberg - Wilhelm II, König von Württemberg

Hi if you go to http://www.coljs.com/ and click on a tab for imperial info, you'll get a map, which if you click on it will bring you to each state with some information. I'm finally linking pickelhaube helmet identity to these pages.
