      Joe,

      It's an Austrian Bar......

Looks pretty good shape.. though the MM order look low... might have come off it's hook.....

I'm not familliar with all the medals.... but I'm sure some here will ID them for you shortly...

      Cheers

        Joe,
Someone has moved the Karltruppenkreuz medal in to the EKII's position. The bar is missing the EKII. I'm no expert, but it looks like there are additional problems here.

        Regards,
        Chip

          Doesn't look real.............

NOT a correct, Austrian Bar. Mounting type is wrong. precedence is wrong, etc., etc., etc. I'd pass, IMO

The bar is missing the German EK2. It has has a Karl Troop Cross where the EK should be. The next one in line is the Silver Bravery Medal, followed by another war merit medal which could be where the Silver Bravery medal should be and the red & white "ver dienst" military merit cross would be where the silver bravery medal is currently as the Military Merit Cross ranks higher than the Silver Bravery medal. Next up is the Bronze Bravery medal, then you could have the right place for the Karl Troop Cross where the Military Merit Cross is currently. Then comes the Hindenburg Cross, a ribbon place for an officers long service cross, followed by the anniversary cros of 1908 and the anniversary medal of 1898. You should be able to pick up the medals needed to make the bar complete without too much expense. Hope this helps! I've got a similar brace with all of your medals and two Turkish medals as well. I like it because it is set up as a German style brace as oppose to a typical Austrian tri-fold brace.

            All the Best!

With my limited austrian knowledge, this is an officer's bar who served prior to and during WW1. The EK2 is missing and would be the first medal on the bar. Next would be the enameled Military Merit Cross w/ war decoration (the wreath) and swords; Silver Miltary Merit Medal; Bronze Military Merit Medal; Karl Truppen Cross for a minumum of 12 months field service and participation in at least one battle and the German Honor Cross for combatants. After that, three non-combatant austrian awards with the 1908 jubilee cross in the middle (I don't know what the others are). The bar dates to post 1934 when the German Honor Cross was instituted. I'm sure there are others that can fill in the blanks.

              Regards

              Dave

              Oh well, too late.......

Sorry, I needed to look at mine again, the yellow ribbon with two black stripes is for the mobilization cross of 1912/13. The one on the end, is out of order, it should come before the 1908 cross, but life does happen. These were probably made after the anschluss as they have the german style set up. I picked mine up in Austria over 20 years ago. I like mine as it really demonstrates the three central powers on one ribbon bar.
