Imperial Portrait 1917

I just found this and thought I would share this here. A striking portrait of an Artillerist by the Marburger painter Hilfrich Dern (25.May 1891 - 29. September 1918) .

For me a very small but impressive work of art.

That is a very nice portrait. The red cap band would actually indicate infantry and the gold-red-gold cockade a regiment from Baden. The cypher on the shoulder strap is not clear but I think it is from the 111 Infantry Regiment Markgraf Ludwig Wilhelm.
