    Cased ek-2 1914

    Hi guys,

I would like to ask your opinions on this cased ek-2 1914. Its my first cased EK-2, have to start somewhere

Who's the maker is from this EK? I don’t recognize it.
Case is looking good to me.

Thanks a lot for your comments and help!
    Most appreciated!

    Eric Jan

The cross looks like a good original but IMO the ribbon looks like
a new repro. I don't have enough experience to comment
          on the case.

I believe the case to be ok, I have seen the exterior pattern on originals before, interior looks ok
            Cheers

              Hello Greg,

I did a test with UV light and it doesnt shine. In hand it feels good to.
imo its a original ribbon maybe replaced....

              Thanks.

                Great start.

I think everything is original, including the case and the ribbon. Naming a maker to the cross will be very difficult because it's one of the early, generic-looking types.

Have you checked for a mark around the outside of the ribbon ring? Sometimes they are marked in this odd place, but not usually. Anyway, many of these very early cast-core silver-frame EK2s are unmarked.

In any case, congrats Eric Jan
                Best regards,
