    1870 Cross Bar

I wish some advice on this Bar, especially the 1870 Cross, which is why I wish to buy it. I need to know if possible what year/period was manufactured, if this can be done from these photos.
    Thanks for any help.
    Alf.

That's a very nice bar. Looks legit to me but wait for more opinions on the bar construction itself.
      • The 1870 EK2 is a Type B core that is probably made by Godet, probably as an early zweitstück.
      • The EK2 jumpring has been repaired.
      • The oakleaves are a very odd and uncommon type but accepted as period.
      • The AEZ, KDM and Königgrätzkreuz are award types.
      • Probably the CM is too but I'm not sure.

If you really just want the EK2, you could wait. These Type Bs do come up for sale, although they're rarer than the Type As.
      Best regards,
      Streptile

          the bar is good.

It´s the bar of an (later) unterbeamten, all decorations are period ones.

The battle clasps does have the correct combinations.

Thank you for your valuable information, but why the battle clasp does not have the correct combinations, what does that mean and what is the meaning of “ unterbeamten”.
Sorry for asking all this but I am new to bar collecting. Thanks

              Hi Alf,
I believe he said the clasps are correct, meaning that they are a proper combination of battles that units participated in. An unterbeamter is, I believe, a lower ranked civil servant of some type.

                  Stepdales declaration is correct.

This kind of "25" oakleave is a rarer one.

You can find them sometimes. I like this style.

So this bar is not for a soldier it is for a civil servant , or I am mixing everything

I think he fought as an regular soldier and later -may be- he served as an
                      unterbeamter.

From Prussia till today - in Germany - if you have served some years in the army you have the chance and the right to get a job as an official - in most cases
                      it is for livetime.
