All I can say is that it is no issued military pouch that I can identify. It has more the look of a privately purchased piece. It would be difficult to date and my gut feeling is that it has some civilian or governmental use (like a tram ticket taker).

Hi Chip,

Thanks for that.I suppose it could be for some form of civilian use,I really have no idea.Its been suggested that the pouch is possibly American.
Measurements are 6" x 4" x 2" deep.
A flare pouch? maybe.

The clips would probably have to attach to a sling that has rings on each end. No German military strap like that that I know of. I doubt the flare pouch theory, as it would have been an issued thing rather than a private purchase piece like this. Sorry I could not help you more.
