The most beautiful official enamel sign of the Kaiserreich!

According to the seller this popped up recently via a house clearance - it is in my opinion the finest and most representative official enamel sign of the german Kaiserreich.
Manufactured around 1890 and therefore one of the earliest enamel signs throughout the Reich as a whole:

Not in perfect condition but so rare it will be hard to top it.

Stuff like this just reminds me of what a shabby day in age we live in.

Honestly, that was also my exact thought.

These cultures destroyed themselves with a catastrophic war for no good reason... what a waste.

The detail in that is amazing.

Now days, no one would ever dream of putting that much effort into
          something like a sign.

The era of true craftsmanship has gone. Apprentices, don't learn the basics and very few clients understand the degree of skill it takes to be a tradesman.

A pic of the sign in question.

            Cheers.
