1 wohlthaetigkeitsfest zum besten der hinterbliebenen unserer in china gefallenen...

(1st Beneficence festival to the benefit / best of our fallen and remaining in China")..."VOELKERS EUROPA WAHRET EUER HEILIGSTEN GUETER" on the obverse, with a reverse inscription of "Veranstaltet vom Marine Verein Frankfurt am Main am 25/26 Aug. 1900 auf dem Ausstellungsplatz" (Organized by the Naval Association, Frankfurt am Main on the 25th / 26th of August, 1900 on the Presentation place / plaza". I believe the obverse reference is to the "Care of their holiest / worthiest of goods" by the people of Europe, however I'm taking a loose translation of "Gueter" in this context. It's made of very light weight aluminum, roughly the size of a US half dollar, and is well detailed, especially to the reverse which depicts an Imperial German eagle w/ crown atop a prostate Chinese dragon. Anyone ever seen one of these before? I'm going to make the assumption that it's an Imperial "day" badge of sorts, which obviously commemorates an event to benefit maintenence the property of Germans who fell during the Boxer Rebellion. A couple of quick snaps below...(sorry they're somewhat washed out by the flash)...Appreciate any feedback on this one.
