    1813 EK1 opinions please

    Greetings gentlemen,

I would like your opinion regarding this "1813" ???? EK1 .I do have my doubts about it and not being familiar with crosses of this period I am seeking your expertise.

A couple of things that stand out to me are, firstly the makers mark and secondly the 'rounding' of the inner frame corners.

Thank you all in advance for your time and assistance.

    Regards,
    Scott

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

To find a good original one of the 1st class is nearly unpossible.

          Hi Scott,

all has been said, but there is the Deschler and Son stamp, which makes it easy to recognize the fake.

          Best regards,
          Micheel

Thanks guys for your responses, this cross is currently on offer on a local trading site. The price is starting to sky rocket and it looks like some poor collector is about to get stung with a fake trinket

For those who are interested this "fake" has just sold for a little over $800 usd.
A costly mistake that could have been avoided with some "RESEARCH"

Whoever bought that thing must live his life totally offline and likely won't find out that his treasure is trash for a long time. Poor fella.

                      naive ..?

I see enough evidence over the years to say the following words ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Not only are most of the Ebay dealers member of the most important forums in Germany and elsewhere .

Most German Ebay military dealers are part of smaller or bigger Ebay dealer cartels.

those Cartels are not only protecting the minimum price agreements they have .

they particular don't like negative Threads like THIS
                      one .

they're reaction to negative criticism is always the same ,,,

the criticized item sells always for a high amount of money,

A attempt to make the criticizing forum members look stupid and they're arguments invalid .
. having the last laugh so to speak.

                      ''''''''''''''' WAKE UP ''''''''''''''

                      regards Monty

Kay, while I don't think this is one of those ebay cases (as it was on a NZ only trading site) there maybe some merit to your post as it started with a number of bidders (some of which I have dealt with in the past, are have found to be well informed in what they collect...all of whom dropped out of bidding soon after I posted this thread) the last two bidders chased up the price and one of which did only have a (1) rating on their trade history (plant bidder maybe)and of course this was not the winner.

I think at this point I need to note that I WAS NOT THE SELLER.

don't worry ,,,not only ebay works like that,,,all INTERNET bidding facility's are already price protective and influencing organized in one way or the other .

                          theres nothing else to expect.

,,,and one,,, cant do without it .

                          regards kay
