                        Just my opinion but it doesn't look right to me.

                          I would say no to this piece. At least from the period of 1870/71. It may be a WW I production but more likely a WW I modification. Details and level of crown is what I use for my guide. The crispness is simply not there.

                            I'm with Greg and Stephen...

                            Maker marks on 1870 EK2's instantly put me off......not too mention it's close similarity to this recent Detlev Niemann fake...also maker marked.

                            I think it may be of the type discueed here a while back - although, frustratingly, most of the pictures which make sense of this thread have now gone...... 1870 EK2 variant?
