    New Arrivals: Baden

It's been a long time since there has been anything new to my collection. Now I've been able to increase my Baden collection. And here is what i have recieved.

First off a label button with Hindenburg cross, ek2, Baden service medall and the hungarian ww1 medall. I might be incorrect with one or two because i have never dealt with these before. It's an interesting addition to my Baden and EK collection and what's best, a dear friend of mine gave it to me as a present!
Am i correct in assuming that the original owner of the button was a badener and fought in the eastern front during ww1? I'm not sure what the qualifications were for that Hungarian medall.. Any additional information is appreciated.

And the other arrival: A Baden Service medall of Friedrich II. As you can see the silver finish that it once had is long gone and even that ribbon attachment has been repaired at some point, but the award itselfr is in a good condition. I'm wondering what that "R.M" stands for.. Is it a makers mark or innitials of the artist that designed the medal?

Nice, Antti Do i see traces of gold on that baden medal? Is it maybe a golden one than a silver medal?

            best,

Thanks Gerd. My camera's flas might show it differently, IMO there are traces of silver. Allthough, the thought of it beign a golden one does sound good..

                Nice Antti!

Though you shouldn't really be collecting Baden awards...only wierdos like that stuff. Best send it to me so that you can keep your reputation intact. You can thank me later! Haha!

I got some nice Baden photos on the way will share them when they arrive!

                Cheers,

                Adam

That Zähinger Löwen w/o swords looks kinda suspicious to me. I think you should send it to me for 10-20 yrs. inspection

Thank you friends! It seems that everybody wants to save me from the hardships of life and keep my collection solid and intact. I'll be waiting for those Baden pictures. Tom, if i only knew your address.. I still haven't got an answer for that R.M marking, thoughts anyone?

R.M. = the die-cutter, Prof. Rudolf Mayer of the Kunstbewerbeschule in Karlsruhe. Nice OZLs btw.

Here is an old thread started by Herr Research on the Hungarian Commemorative Medal: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22402 It was awarded to Central Powers veterans who simply applied for it. It's also the most common WWI commemorative medal in German groups (after the Hindenburg cross of course )
