Saschaw. I remember we talked about that medal that time. It's great piece, I understood the value and why you wanted it later on - that time it was "just a cool looking medal" for me. Good you got it, it ended up in right hands

    Happy New Year to everyone!

                Robert
the earliest production date of this Deumer type so far is 1926.
And should be available in 800 silver and silver plated .
the 1926 produced pins of the ek1 are always non silver
and never marked with a silver stamp due laws and regulations.

this type is indeed a Schinkel type frame as it is a narrow looking frame .
just as the original design of Schinkel was intended
Al do the Schinkle frame was much narrower as the 1914 ever would be.
(only the CD marked crosses come close being as narrow as the Schinkel frame )
Deumer also produced wider frame type iron crosses who are falsely and sadly called LDO frame.

these two crosses here are a fine time dating example ,,,
the one with the L11 mark should be made after 1942 .
as the LDO marking started 1942 if I recall correctly.

interesting also is ,,if someone ordered such crosses it would be ordered as silver.
and delivered as silver plated crosses ...

only with the remark 800 /000 echt silver solid silver would be used.
strangely ,,,,made in neusilber ,,prices would be higher..

                regards kay

My God there are some beautiful pieces here. I've been watching from the sidelines but this thread makes me want to start buying again.

Thank you, Kay, for adding your thoughts.

In my collection I have an L/11-marked EKI and an Imperial Deumer EKII. They are vastly different. The Imperial EKII does have the smaller, narrower Schinkel frame while the L/11 EKI has the full 44mm 1939 frame.

I am on the prowl for an Imperial EKI Deumer.

                    Thanks again,

                    Robert

Thanks to member naxos they are together after "how many years"? He found them a year apart from two different German sources. As I had obtained the Militarpass from naxos awhile ago he kindly offered me the Soldbuch. Very much appreciated.

Both are full of personal, training and operational information. Briest and his flamethrower participated in the Sturmbataillon assault on British held Hill 110.

Sorry for being so late on this, just seeing it now.

                      They look really good together!
