I found these the other day and the price was hard to pass up.

I have no idea what purpose they were made for other than a decoration that was put on something.

They are probably some terrible repro from the 60's.

There is a large and a small one.

Anyone know what it's origins are ?

For me there are two options:

1) used on Photo albums etc;
2) In the Deumer catalog there are 3 sizes, they could also be hollow.

Anyway I like the state and if they were not expensive I would have bought them also.

I paid 3.85 for the two.

The U Boats on my badges have very interesting dips at the bow and stern.

Yes that is what I mean. 3.85. Usually the fakes are solid cast. There seem to be no marks of a needle. I also noticed the dip.

Can you post a picture of the back of the small one?

here I also don't see any traces of a clasp. So I would tend to go to a display /photo album /ashtray piece.

Anyway I like them both. For an "original" prices are in the range of 500...600. So IMO you made a very nice bargain

Do you think 25.00 USD for the larger and 20.00 USD for the smaller ?

Is that too cheap ?
