Navy Award? EKI please have a Look

a friend got some stuff today and we wonder about a Badge with anchor and torpedo. He was told the men served in a Uboot Crew.
Please also have a look at the EKI...unfortunatley its damaged.

just found out now the Anchor is from the sleeve career badge for Torpedo mechanics..someone made a Pin with needle from it.

That is a torpedo mechanic's insignia, but not imperial. That insignia if from the postwar era.

Sleeve badges of this type I have seen are stamped hollow ones not solid ones. Can you place something beside it as reference to it's size?

I like the EK1 ,the "damage" makes it more appealing IMO gives it a real character .The story behind the cause of the crushing to the lower arm would be of real interest (if it can be proved of course)
