    Imperial Ribbon Question

Can someone identify the ribbon at the right end of this bar (under the arrow) and show the medal that would go with it?

    Thanks!

Looks like a non-combatant ribbon for either the Mecklenburg Schwerin or Strelitz Military Merit Cross. The Friedrich Alexandra Cross might also match, but is unlikely due to its rarity and that there is nothing else red cross related on the bar.

Thanks Konigtiger! After searching for the three you mention, the Friedrich Alexandra Cross appears to have the same ribbon (see below)... a closer match than the other two.

Edit: I just found an example of the Mecklenburg Schwerin Merit Cross, and it appears to have the same/similar ribbon as the Friedrich Alexandra Cross (I couldn't find a clear photo of the Meck-Strelitz cross).

The example of the Mecklenburg-Schwerin Military Merit Cross you found is on the wrong ribbon. It only had two edge stripes, not three.

It is the Friedrich Franz Alexandra Cross, not the Friedrich Alexandra Cross.

This ribbon was also used for the Verdienstmedaille für eine rühmliche Handlung, which served as a lifesaving medal for Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

          thanks correct dave.

is it a version with hooks on the backside or not (if not we call this bänderschnalle alter art - ribbon bar old style)

if it has hooks you could try to get the medals.

but the FFA-cross is very hard to find.

          it was less awarded.

The red of the middle strip of the ribbon in question is different (a common red - described as "rot" in german) than "usual" Mec-Schwerin "red", which is more pink/violet (described as "karminrot/dunkelrosa").

I found only one match for such red ribbon, Medaille für eine rühmliche Handlung, that already Dave pointed out.

For carmine red/dark pink variant I found beside Franz/Alexandra cross also Verdienstmedaille Friedrich Franz II 1872 and Rettungsmedaille 1922 (which is obviously not the case here).
