The cross is a Wagner made, bronze gilt.

        Bronze gilt Wagner... really?

I'm not familiar with this type, but I am no Crown Order expert.

Why do you think it's bronze gilt? Can you show bigger photos of the cross alone?
        Best regards,

          Hi !

Why bronze gilt ? Because any stamp... Only W on the lower arm...
Do you think it could be silver or gold ??

I will do better pictures of the cross tomorrow (i'm still at work now)...

I am quite sure it must be gold, but let's see good photos.

Weight often can't help us because bronze gilt and gold are very similar weights. But I think it must be gold.

Show us very good, close photos of the metal parts.
            Best regards,

I hope someone else (Sascha) will say something here, but I don't think W made too many (any?) of these in bronze gilt. It does look a bit patinated for gold, but I think it's probably gold anyway.
                Best regards,

                  Thank you !

I hope also someone will help us to determine if it's gold or not...

For weight, the model shown above weigh 11,15g : it's a little less than describe on the Nimmergut OEK, but there is a little scratch on the reverse upper arm : some of of enamel disappeared...

Looks like gold to me, too.

They were officially never made in bronze gilt but may exist as private purchase crosses. Those I know (also RAO3, HOH3) were one sided, however.

Offically made Prussian orders from gold are usually not purity marked! Nor are silver ones, unless they are gilt!

I'm not sure, but think it was 14 ct for the enemaled orders.

In old days, let's say 1850s, they also used higher grades, e.g. about 22 1/4 ct.
