    Danish officers?

I just got this photo of Danish officers. Anyone can confirm that they are indeed Danes? Can they be identified? Considering that the photograph is Aage Munksgaard, they may be officers of note.

    Thanks,

    Mark

The name Aage Munksgaard, sounds danish, but the officers on the photo
are for sure not in danish uniforms.

Aren't they Austro-Hungarian Landesschützen? With the collar insignia with the Edelweiss. They seem older for the ranks, so maybe Landwehr.

I do not know if they are any Danish, but some are indeed A-H officers. Aage Munksgaard is well known in photography circles and in early 1900s had the largest photo studios in Denmark. Here is a small article on his life:
        http://www.viborghistorie.dk/historier/historie-6.tkl??

I am told, that after returning from Germany in 1912, he was active solely in his home country. That is why I am curious about the A-H officers... What would they do in Denmark? I am NOT 100% positive that all the uniforms are Austrian...

        Thanks!!

You are absolutely correct! Some of them are A-H Landesschützen!

I'm not involved in A-H Army , but was sure about it - and second of all after checking it, you both Dave and lohengrin were right - some are Landesschuetzen officers . best regards

Most of them are Austrian officers, though the guy in sheep wool cap appears to be Norwegian.

That's what I wanted to say... except didn't know he could be Norwegian. All the caps and uniforms are A-H, except that one with fur cap - these kind of caps were never worn in AH army. Could be some pre-war visit of AH (and one Norwegian) officers to Danmark?

Thanks for the helpful comment, Valter!

                  You may be correct!

                    Dear Chip!

Thanks for this! I still think that some of the uniforms are NOT A-H.

Take the first row! The possible Norwegian is on one side, A-H officer on the other side (the one with the edelweiss) and another A-H officer with the feathers on his cap, but what about the two guys between? I am not 100% sold on A-H officers. Also behind them, there are few standing officers with various collar insignia... Not really Austrian!

Does anyone have a photos of WWI Danish uniforms? And what about Swedish ones?

                    Thanks for all that help!

                      PLEASE?

Here are few more details of the photo!

                        Hi Mark

In a humanitarian gesture, the neutral Denmark had established on its soil two hospital-camps. This was arranged following agreements between the main warring nations (Germany and Austria-Hungary of one side, Russia of the other), the Red Cross Organization, and the Danish Government. Both sides could transfer a limited number of their sick and wounded POWs (that had been kept in the enemy's camps) to these well-supplied hospital-camps. Camp No.1 (Horserød) was assigned to the Russian POWs, while Camp No.2 (Hald) hosted German and Austro-Hungarian POWs. As you can see your Foto was taken in Camp No. 2 ( Hald, close to Viborg)
The interned could freely move around the camp on a 7-km range and could visit the town of Viborg.

                        Regards
                        Joern

                          Brilliant info!!!!! Many thanks!

So, does that mean that they are all A-H soldiers and officers? I am still puzzled by some of the headgear, insignia and uniforms (especially those guys standing at the back). I have looked through 10-15 books on uniforms from the A-H era and nothing! There are several easily recognizable A-H officer uniforms, but what about the rest?

                          Thanks again,

                          Mark
