For one thing, there is a cavalry or mounted artillery finial on an infantry stein. Another thing is the poor quality of the transfer as compared to originals. Originals were highlighted with paint. Things such as buttons, helmet plates, etc. got touches of paint that you can feel when you pass your hand over the surface. The owner's name and the unit information are also normally hand painted on.
100% Repro,,As Chip says the awful transfer print alone is a stand out no no, Original Impy Steins will be overpainted or "filled in" by hand and after nearly 100yrs some of the paint will naturally look washed out.
My camera is currently goosed so i cant show mine to show the the differance.
Also i would suspect that the base is clean? If it were genuine (100 yrs old) the rim would be off coloured and scratched as it would have been moved from pillar to post and on different surfaces.
