WWI Gorget with EK, help needed.

This type of "neck weight" is called a 'Dagbricka' in Swedish and 'Ringkragen' in German.

Have no idea what this particular one was used for, help is appreciated.

The EK stands a good chance of being a 33mm Prinzen made by Deumer.

    Better pics coming up...

Thanks a Lot! Any more facts about Flag Bearers in particular. Guess all regiments had at least one but why the EK?

I would suggest this is likely for a post WW1 veteran's group, possibly even the Stahlhelm.

Have read up on ringkragen and agree. Manufacture suggests 20-30s to a Fahnenträger for any of the vet groups. Found a similar one with EK on Weitze.

Will be interesting to see what cross it is, seems to be iron core at least.

Seems to be for the Kyffhäuser-Kriegerbund according to Wilhelm who wrote a book about them.

This is probably the first I've ever seen with an Ek. Usually these are fairly generic ... With the group possibly identified with and engraved script at the top of the shield.

Ps. Thanks for the cross Carl!

Weitze got one with a Prinzen EK on too, not the same version as this. Glad u liked the little Prinz!

Arrived today. Cross is indeed a Deumer Prinzen, 3 piece made with Neusilber frames and iron core, flanges are brandished and beading frosted. Ringkragen is marked with HCH. Timm Berlin C19. Pics coming up.

Here is a picture from the Deumer catalog 1926. Seems you could place anything on the shield.

                    Congrats!

                    Best regards,
                    Michel

Thanks Michel, exactly what i've been looking for! Deumer had something cooking with HCH Timm, that is obvious.

Very cool Carl So is the cross a Deumer Prinzen?
