Saw this while I was checking out some other items at an auction house. Seller thought it was military, but I don't think so. Still interesting since it was well marked as "silber" with a content of 935 (an odd number to me and the folks there).
Any ideas on age? Any ideas what the hell it is? I know it might not be military, but I figure it must have been important enough to make it out of such a high grade of silver.
There is a small marking under the image that reads "Certel Ber." The end of "ber" is cut off by the rifle, is "Berlin" a reasonable conclusion or is that part of the engraver's name?
The reverse is the same style, just no text or details on the center disc. I'm guessing it was a piece that was never engraved.
What would something like this even go for?
