Cool grouping. I didn't realize that Mecklenburgers who served after 1871 didn't receive the Kaiser Wilhelm Century Medal in 1897.

one reverse is blank and the other has (what appears to me) the Unit numbers

Cool grouping. I didn't realize that Mecklenburgers who served after 1871 didn't receive the Kaiser Wilhelm Century Medal in 1897.

My understanding towards this is one had to serve in a purely Prussian unit to receive the Decoration.
