    VFV 1914 Pin - Red Cross/DRK ?

Had this thing sitting in a junk box due to my goofy dyslexia. When it came in with a bunch of other stuff I gave it a passing glance and 'saw' (dyslexia) "VFW" versus VFV. Thinking it was an American veterans of foreign wars red cross thing I chucked it in a box with US crap.

Then I noticed someone selling one claiming it was a German pin & thought that goofball is clueless. Taking a better look at it I realized it didn't say "VFW"...

So, can anyone tell me anything about these?

    Thanx in advance

I believe it is a membership badge of the Vaterländishe Frauenverein, a women's volunteer group. I've heard it was the female portion of the red cross in Prussia. It was the largest female organization in the Kaiserreich and lasted from 1866-1937.
