Anyone know old civilian pipes?

Does anyone know if this old pipe is German or American etc.? The man is holding a stein.

This guy looks like wearing Austro Hungarian hussar uniform with side cap, from cca 1890-WW1. Beer was popular in AO countries too.

Thanks for your input -- I thought he looked Turkish perhaps (but that would cut out the alchohol of course) so Austro Hungarian is certainly likely

Yes, he looks turkish abit, but Turks didn't drink beer until recently. These kind of figures are common in central european folk art from cca 1850-1900 (a person with straight arm and beer mug) and hussars were kinda archetip of soldiers, due to their picturesque uniforms.

Without having it in hand, I would guess that your pipe is from around the early 1900’s and made out of meerschaum. Refer to -
