    27mm "Meybauer" Prinzen.

A 27mm is one of the rarest cross of all but 760 € with the wrong hardware, core and a highly questionable mark is just insane.

Too many question marks on this one at that price. Would be hard to find a good version to compare it too, although no doubt one of the Iron Cross maniacs on here has one.

Thanks for sorting the pics Don!

It sold today, on ebay of course. Only ever saw one 27mm Meybauer and biased as it's in my own collection:
            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=378028

The eBay one has nothing in common with the above and nothing in common with any other 3/4 Prinzen or full size Meybauer and still several people joined in on the bidding frenzy. Seller got a return policy and sincerly hope the buyer researches it and sends it back.

Most of the fakes going for high prices are from sellers with 100% feedback and lots of sells.

Almost at the same time bidded on a 1870/71 Verdienstkreuz für Frauen und Jungfrauen. Starting bid was 500€ and i was the only bidder. It got some enamel damage but still less than half the price.

Short time ago i sold what i believe to be a good AWS 3/4 Prinzen, had very detailed pics and return policy but still it went for 106€.

Yes, eBay has its own jungle rules. One of them is that you can browse it through and through how long you want, still somebody shows up with the cross you thought you couldn´t miss. There was some "virgin" EK on eBay this week and I missed it? Scheisse.

I agree, they should have more and better detailed categories, better search function and longer auction time than 10 days. As it is now the good stuff drowns in the bad.

Yes, those cathegories are sometimes funny. If I am looking for 1870 crosses on american eBay, appropriate era is called Indian Wars (1866-93), haha. No wonder everybody puts his imperials to ww1 cathegory.

Why you didn´t try swedish tradera when selling that AWS prinzen? I was there for some inspection and saw EKs being sold for big big money.

Tradera is good for some stuff, for example period items with Swaz is not forbidden. Sadly Prinzen size crosses is not a good thing to sell there, knowledge is extremly low.

Lots of fake Imperial and TR EK's also sabotages for the real ones. Gave up reporting fakes, they do not delete auctions despite the rule that newly produced Nazi items are forbidden. Basically you can sell any crap and get away with it.

Will probably never sell anything outside Estand anymore. Buying however is a different matter.

Anyway, next time let me know if some spare prinzen will worry you. Regards.
