    Fake Imperial swords & daggers??

As part of my recent reference book buying binge, I bought Ltc. Johnson's "Collecting Imperial Edged weapons", and in the preface he stated that Imperial weapons were gaining in popularity because unlike TR items they were not being faked in quantity. I am sure this was the case in 1988 when the book was printed, but what is the situation now?? Are there any particular imperial areas in which to beware of fakes?? thanks, Bill

Thanks, I was assuming there was some copying, but just did not know to what extent it goes on.

        William,

in todays market you will find every Imperial dagger reproduced and put together.

        A few examples: http://www.germanautoandaerocorps.co...e-warning.html

or here from a German company: http://www.wkc-solingen.de/newshop/d...olchdamas.html

Please keep in mind these Damascus blades, WKC sells them on the German Kassel show as spare parts. This is true Damascus, so you will find these blades mated with original parts from the Imperial or TR time even by well known dealers as well as on auction platforms.

        Hope that answers your question.
