Gold Wound Badge in Cellophane Packet - Assmann & Son

Here's a Mint, Unused, Gold Imperial Wound Badge in the original 1930's Assmann & Son Cellophane Packet. The cellophane is in excellent condition as are the printed graphics, and it's not cracked or torn, and the flap is open on the top.

I picked this up at the Minnesota Military Collector Show the first part of October.

I look forward to your thoughts & comments.

    All the Best,

    Alan

              I can only offer that:

              1) It's a great looking combination, but

              2) it could well be a fake http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...und+cellophane

That was some time ago, and while i have never been sure what to make of Marcus's credentials as a packet guy, I think it's fair to say he is definitely the 'go to guy' for this sort of thing.

I hope it's a legit bag, because quite frankly, it's awesome!

For me the hinge and sloppy main pin ring alarm bells.

                Regards

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

I'm assuming that's Hitler on the packet? Why?

                    Hi Guys,

I posted this to find out if it is a legitimate badge and packet or not.

I've followed the link to the thread with Marcus's comments, and he says the cellophane packets have been floating around for a decade or more, and that they're not any good. That thread showed a mint third reich black wound badge with the same/similar packet as I have.

The badge itself looks correct, but I have questions in my mind about the pin and hinge assembly. It seems sloppy, and not tight.

The image on the packet I presume is a generic political figure, and not "hitler", as Darrell was wondering about.

                    All the Best,

                    Alan

I saw this one in person and was really impressed by it.
That being said, I don't collect WBs and would not know a good
fake if I were holding it

                      Alan,
I hope this one turns out to be a OK.
