Here is a matched pair of medal bars that came up for auction recently. These bars supposedly belonged to a medical officer in the Prussian Landwehr. The first is the standard military mount and the second is the matching frack bar for wear on the civilian tuxedo. The bars were listed as separate auction lots. I ended up winning the frack bar but lost out on the military mount. I am thrilled to be getting the frack bar, but it sure would have been nice to have the matched set. Notice that the Iron Cross is worn on a combatant ribbon, but both the Ernestine House Order-Knight's Cross Second Class and the 1914-1918 Cross of Honor are without Swords.
