    Vet Grouping help

    Hi All

I have an opportunity to purchase the following two items from a WW2 vets family:
    1) WW1 Trench knife
    2) WW1 Match Safe
Please let me know if you believe them to be original and what a fair price would be.
    Thanks
    Charlie

Both items are original and in good shape. The trench knife has the postwar export mark with the country of origin. In my estimation, these are worth somewhat less than similar unmarked knives. Though certainly made during the WWI period, it ended up as surplus and was marked as an export item. A nice one, like this, without the "Germany" marking sells for a ballpark price of $150 or less (in the U.S.).

          The matchsafe estimate is accurate.

          Both items are fairly common.

          Regards,
          Chip
