EK fake or original

I'm green in medals and insignia from WW1 but just receive this iron cross with assurances that it,s original, but I have doubts having in mind all the maestros of fakes working entusiasticly in my region (East europe)... so please give me your opinion about this item. There is metal core and silver frame (not one piece), but yet not sure...

While they are now indeed faked, there are still enough originals around, with more than five millions awarded.

I actually like that the blacking is not perfect!

There are indeed maestros in the East right now, some of the work is BETTER than the original.

If anything should be wrong with the cross - I'm no saying it is - then the core might be repainted. The cross itself - definitely a period one.

Thanks guys ! I appreciate your quick responses! I think the picture gives incorect impretion for very shiny paint...it's actually more mat, any way your opinions are good news for me, even if it has been repainted...
