Dear imperialoids,

I am proud to present my brother's latest addition to his collection. In our collections we haven't got yet a Spange with the OWF 2.Kl.X... To me it's one of the most beautiful German pre-1918 orders. This medal bar is sewn together especially (see inclination) for a civil tuxedo (Frak).

There is no Hindenburg Cross, so the Third Reich (1938-43) Loyal Service Cross must have been used to replace an Imperial award.

An XXV Cross would seem unlikely-- the Saxe-Weimar and Bulgarian Orders are for Lieutenants. Maybe an XX?

Placing a German Long Service award AFTER the "foreign" Bulgarian would have been a 1920s "anything goes" mistake. This is a pre-Third Reich bar, I think.

That dark blue ribbon could also be a Finnish White Rose, an Austrian veterans' "Ehrenlegion"...

I like the thought of a White Rose-Knight there. Then all would be correct AND there would be THREE enamelled Orders.

As Rick so rightly said, I also believe that the medals were very likely put together in the twenties (anything goes), especially because also the needle system (brass?) and the backing construction really looks early. It is difficult to tell if the last long service medal was replaced... Every medal seems to fit tightly on the bar, but if it was done by a professional taylor I can think that there was another Imperial long service medal at the end. Here is a typical exemple how Germans didn't quite follow the rules as we think. I think that on such Civil Frakschnallen you can see more often such errors.
