Royal Hohenzollern Houseorder, Knight with swords - Spangenstück

My second last purchase from ebay!!! A Spangenstück of the Royal Hohenzollern Houseorder with Swords. Made from gilt bronze and in a very good quality but not to compare with the awarded medals. Both medaillons are separate pieces and glued on the cross; the crown is hollow made from two pieces and soldered together with a small rod soldered inside to attach the medal.

I've never seen one before. Could this be a "M1957?"

              Hallo Jens,

Well, to tell you the truth I have never seen such variant of the HHO RKX and, also if it's the real deal (maybe produced in the thirties), its quality lets a bit to be desired IMHO. Nothing to do with the ones produced during or before WWI.

Herewith I am posting my HHO RK with swords in gilted bronce "Ausführung" (late WWI), which I got from Stogieman (again thanks to him to have let me purchasing this interesting piece). My piece seems to retain better the gilting. Furthermore the detail of the crown or the wreath appears to be a bit more precise.

              Ciao,

              Claudio

Rick: I think it is older and due the detail I don't think it is 1957. They are usually much worse made.

Stevenn: Can you post better pics of yours? I think they look very similar.

Claudio: Thanks for posting yours. I think mine was made in the 30s or even 40s.

I just noticed something! The oakleafes should be on the right side of the front but they are left. On the back they are on the correct side. Any opinions?!?

A gentleman in Florida has been selling modern copies on eBay. Sometimes getting good bucks, sometimes no bids...

Yes, I know his faked Oldenburg etc. crosses. But this one is for 100% original and nearly impossible to fake with real enamel.

Help me out here, why is this 100% authentic? I'm not seeing the sharp details I'd expect.

Real enamel and an "authentic" construction. I don't see a lack of details, it is only a Spangenstück, not an awarded medal. The crown is much more detailed then seen in the scan. It is in parts too shiny for a better scan.
And it is old. I had to clean it carefully, it was full of dust and some verdigris.

This is the one I had. Bronze, no makers mark.
