    Inperial ek2 framed

Thought I would show this one to fellow members. It's a unique piece in that the cross rests in an impressed area like that found in regular cases. Seems to have some personalization on the back that I don't understand. Anyone care to translate it for me?

Hi Frank - It says "The Iron Cross was awarded to: The machinist's mate Arthur Weigel on board S.M.S. Frankfurt, son of merchant/business man Otto Weigel, Dessau"

I just looked at it under a loupe Mark. It seems to be what I call a wank; it's not an intentional mark or strike as far as I can tell. It's some kind of flaw or injury. A wank.
