I agree. I think both are shaved 1914s. Maybe it's just the lighting
in the photo but on the 1813 Ek2 , I think I can almost make out the
shape of the "W" and to the best of my knowledge there are NO maker
marked 1813s.

I agree that both 1813s are modified 1914s, unfortunately.

Have a look HERE. It's another forum, so you will have to join, but it's a good one.

If someone has ANY evidence of a known original please post them.
This has been an on going debate for years and we at WAF. GMIC and
Warrelics have never seen one that could be proofed original.

Just as a footnote for reference to collectors, my records indicate that the 1813 EK1st Class shown above was sold to me as a period original in 2002 at the "MAX" by a dealer who has subsequently been identified as being less than honourable in the German items which he sells: Lowell Jackson, Pieces of History, Cave Creek, AZ.

We live and learn....by helping each other. Buyer beware.
