Gentlemen, would anyone care to give opinions on this trade badge.
Badge is hollow struck in buntmetal as a one strike and has four ring lugs at 12,3,6,and 9 o'clock for attachment .Same dimensions as marine retired pilot badge (less the crown) detail is good. Sewn onto the black/dark blue oval patch by the four lugs in black thread, double looped around all four rings.reverse has typical period white gauze backing. No date stamp unfortunately. Lack of crown and seascape may point to Weimar period but I am not so sure.Certainly modelled on the retired pilot award but in arm patch form ?????? Any thoughts ? I saw one other of these several years ago that had no cloth backing and a missing lug but other than that never seen one of these.
