    Interesting Lapel Buttonire And Rosette

Hi guys, here is an unusual set (at least to me) of a five medal lapel buttoner with two matching rosettes with the same ribbons. How many other examples have you seen or have?

I've seen a very few, but posess none. They are pretty keen! Are those Baden/Alsatian style rosettes?

Hi Eric, I don't have a clue what style they are. I picked them up because I'd never seen the matching rosettes before. Thanks for the comments.

Well, you certainly win the prize for AGE:

What you have there is a Baden 1870 veteran retired reserve officer's pre-1897 group! That's the 1870-71 War Medal, not the Hindenburg Cross in the middle, because the next ribbon is Baden's general Campaign Medal used retroactively to the Napoleonic Wars, and last for 1871. No 1897 Wilhelm 1 Centenary Medal, so these predate then. The final ribbon for a Baden long service award indicates it must have been the Reserve-Landwehr Decoration 2nd Class, because this fellow got (2nd) a Zähringen Lion Order and regular officers and long (XX) service dR/dL officers wore the Prussian long service crosses after amalgamation of Imperial land forces.

The round rosettes are FRENCH style, and quite bizarre in German groups.

Here's my only rosettes set, to a Saxon Hauptmann aD from the 1920s:
