for my friend down under simon:)

    hello simon,

here`s one of my new medal bar(s) i told you. very rare... i like red cross decorations!

    hope you like it, too

iron cross 2nd class on combattant ribbon, the core has a little bit rust, so i preserved it with some WD 40 (oil against rust)., prussian war aid cross, ansonit (zinc), prussian long service cross for 20 years (landwehr) center in gold and finally the k.u.k. (means hungarian/austrian kingdom) honor cross of the red cross 2nd class with war decoration ("KD" - means with oakleaves) very rare on a german medal bar...

i think the awarded soldier was a german military doctor who fought also at the southern front (austria/italy), because he wears the war decoration.

best regards from another part of the world. joe.

hello simon thanks for your feedback.

if you want to learn more about german awards you should buy the "orden und ehrenzeichen" Deutschland katalog 1800-1945 von Jörg Nimmergut.

means: orders and decorations of germany 1800-1945 from jörg nimmergut.

it has a good price. i think you can get it at amazon or at ebay.de

another good book about german medal bars is the book from Thomas
Yanacek with it`s title "German parade medal bars of the third reich", it contains also a lot of imperial medals and decorations. the book is written in english.

now it´s time for bed. in germany it`s after midnight.

          regards joe.

Nice and not common, but you'll find 100 with KD before you find one without. A new target?
