Order of iron crown III Class: year of manufacture?

    Hello guys,

I am going to sell this piece soon(on estand probably). But first I just wanna check, ca what year of manufacture would you put this? Maybe around WW1 or so? The ring is stamped CH Rotke.

I am right to assume this is gilded silver and not gold, right?

I also have the case for it.

    Regards,
    David

    Hi David,

A real beauty, marked for Vienna jeweler Rothe. I can't date it for you as I don't know much about these, but appreciate your posting it for us.
    Best regards,
    Streptile

As mentioned before, the asterix-mark stands for unedles metall
and indicates that no silver and gold have been used (except the gilding).

So this one is gilded bronce. Ist is a 3rd Class with Wardecoration. All this facts lead me to the opinion that this piece was produced during WWI, i guess 1915 to 1918. Because in 1915 they decided to award orders made in gilded bronce instead of real gold. Later in the war (1917) only pieces awarded by emperor charles himself have been made in real gold.
