    WWI German Overcoat price range

What do these generally go for? My dad has a really nice one with his complete WWI German combat uniform, and I have not been able to find the correct prices for these. He does not plan on selling it, it is just he likes to know the market value of things, so that eventually he can insure them.
The outside is awesome, but the majority of the interior has been removed by the original soldier so that he could access his pant pockets from the slash pockets of the overcoat.
When I get home from schule, I will take pictures of it.
    Thanks!

Well, 10 years ago Bill Shea was selling them for $60.00-$80.00 each.
My guess is now 4 times that.

Uh......Karl.....before something gets the handle "awesome" it usually is a regulation textbook piece, not with a removed liner, replaced cuffs, etc. With all due respect, I am a soldier, and the absolute last thing I would ever do, is rip the lining out of my only winter coat. This is a post war alteration. I have seen these sell for $400 and up, but this example I am afraid, IMO would not be worth that much.

As it turns out, the cuffs are original to it. Note it is 1918 manufacture, so they were using ersatz materials. as for the lining, I could see that the soldier who originally wore it probably did use it after the war and did remove the sections of liner which are gone. But are you sure this is a post-war alteration? He may have done this during the war because not everyone thinks the same.
                      Just my 2 cents.
