Another find at the Haiger show: Saxon Ehrenkreuz für freiwillige Wohlfahrtspflege

This is the Ehrenkreuz für freiwillige Wohlfahrtspflege from the Kingdom of Sachsen. It was instituted in 1871 and later in 1912 as "Erinnerungskreuz für freiwillige Krankenpflege". In 1916 the name was changed to "Ehrenkreuz für freiwillige Wohlfahrtspflege". There are different variations with different dates and the oakleafes on the left or right side of the cross. This one here is the model "1914-1918" and with the oakleafes on the right side. It is complete with the woman-bow with pinback.

Back. The pin is marked "D.R.G.M. 3373??" (patent mark for that style of pin).

yes, i think its the patent mark for the pin construction.

awards in the wearing syle for women are much rarer than for men.
      nice cross!

        Sehr schön

        Nice arrangement, Jens.

Unfortunately, work got in the way and I didn't manage to find time for a buying frenzy at Haiger. What was the show like? Big and with lots of questionable zinc like in the past?

Hope I didn't miss too much

        /David

Yep, a lot of zink (a lot questionable also) and prices to run away crying! There were only two dealers you could buy stuff from because of good imperial medals and realistic prices (at one of them I got the non-combatant EK bar). A friend of me got a bavarian MVK 2. class with crown and swords for 140 Euros which is a really good price at the second dealer you can buy from.
