So I guess, for now, we can safely say:

• This piece is probably a prewar piece, that either a) had swords added when the need for more Swords awards increased after WWI, or b) was one of a handful of prewar awards of the KO2X.
  
• The ribbon should probably be black and white (Kriegsband).
