Very nice and unusual combo. I have a couple of bars with Spanish decorations, and they aren't common.

Interresting one! But is this the proper ribbon for the Reuß medal without swords? Thought these had another one...

                    Hi Sascha,

I believe that this ribbon is correct for both the Silver Merit Medal with and without swords. There was no need to reverse the ribbon colors on these since the medals themselves were distinctly different.

                    Best regards,
                    Tom

I think Sascha you mean the purple peacetime ribbon..... in the OEK Bänderkatalog is written that it was possible to get the medal without swords on the combattant ribbon....

                          Thanks, Heiko

My understanding is that a wartime recipient of the Silver Merit Medal w/o Swords was permitted to wear the medal on the "wartime" ribbon i.e., the same ribbon as the Reuß Merit Medal with Swords and the Reuß Honor Cross.

                          Best regards,
                          Tom
