            I have the first edition as well Greg, it's a good read. The seller is the author and he is very helpful.

                Interesting. I've never seen that book for sale before, and I never notice it cited as an authority. As best you can tell, Don, is the information accurate? Is there anything in there that's not "common knowledge" on the forums, so to speak?

                  I found the first edition interesting, if only because it's a decent compilation of markings. Most of the info was not new and I had the impression a lot had been "gleaned" from recent forum discussions, but there were some interesting new things (for me) as well. I don't recall much in the way of definite fakes, but I haven't looked at it recently.

                      Is this that book I've heard from in which is prooven that EK maker "KO" stands for VIENNA state mint?



                      f so, might some one please show me that prooves?

                        The 1st edition lists KO as the Berlin mint.

                        The Vienna mint would not make sense imo. Too many KOs are known from German veteran groupings, many with no Austrian association, and there are never any Austrian silver export markings on KOs.
