I think that its a good one albeit in poor condition. These iron made ones are the very early award pieces. The eagle would have been entirely painted black and I can still see traces in your pics. This type is found with bent pins or rivets securing the crescent and motto which are normally silvered. The wide hinge is also characteristic (take a look at your WW1 wound badges).
