AWESOME Photo of WWI Bavarian Priest-EKII and Bavarian KVK

From my dad's collection of 200+ WWI German postcards, which he has collected since the 70's.
    What do you think?

Great picture. I did notice the priest was wearing a COMBAT ribbon
    on his EK2.

There were at least 544 awards of the Bavarian Military Merit Order 4th Class with Swords "on the war merit ribbon." (The award rolls are rarely ever truly "complete," but under 600 total would seem reasonable.)

Of those, 159 are listed as Catholic chaplains, as this man was, from his Crucifix. If you had a name on back I could tell you when it was awarded.

I have plenty more postcard photos which I will be scanning over the weekend. One such photo is a studio portrait of a WWI German Gebirgs troop, whose face looks almost exactly like my dad's. This is just one out of many fantastic cards which you all will love.
And also, there is no name on the back, but a date written in ink pen of 1917.
It is too bad that there is no name, for that would be some awesome researching.
            Thanks for the interest!
