Hi Fabri, never saw a Meybauer with the 'incuse 800' mark before. Core is the so called 'slanted W', a generic one used by many makers and found in Meybauers too. Plate and screw looks ok, many of them are not made of silver and marked like yours. Weirdest thing is the overall shape of the frame, most Meybauers are very slim, look at the '39 Schinkel for example. Yours seems to have a pretty wide frame, not a bad thing but not consistant with other Meybauers.

        Hi Fabri,

I know this cross very well, but I don't know who made it. It's a big mystery to me, in fact. The correct attachments for this exact cross (this frame, core, and incuse 800 mark) are a two-piece screwback attachment almost exactly like an early 1939 Juncker.

This is not the same cross, but it has the same two-piece screwback hardware that yours should have:

In other words, I believe the cross-shaped backplate and DRGM pieces may be replacements on yours. Of course I may be mistaken. if this cross is a Meybauer it would solve a long mystery for me.
        Best regards,
        Streptile

          Hi guys
thank you very much for your precious infos. So this one could not be a Maybauer.
But do you find it a nice cross ?
I have new questions now, please answer to me if possible.
1 - have you seen other crosses exactly like mine, with same parts ?
2 - have you seen a Meybauer EKI with same beads and inner corners ?

P.S. your infos "force" me to get a textbook P.M. now...

Looks like a very nice one with silver patina, the core is my favo EKI.

No, the cross i call the 'incuse 800 slanted W' comes in the version Trev shows. That one got a "female nut" attached to the back and not the "male bolt" like your does. Your frame does not seem to match my pinback but i found a screwback that does, see pic.

No, went through all M i have on file, about 25 crosses, and none seems to match. Lots of bad pics and worn crosses though. PM your email and i'll ship over the whole file.

Trev, have a hunch that some of the 'Incuse 800' is J H Werner, based on the crosshatching on inner corners. Have to look into this closer though.

Another screwback that matches Fabris frame, not sure about the addition.

Carl shows two crosses with the correct hardware for this type. I have never seen this type with Meybauer hardware like yours before, only as Carl shows, and never seen a Meybauer with this frame.

Maybe this set-up is not so uncommon, I have found now pics of another one, or so seems for my eyes, all parts are in silver. What do you think ?

Not the same frame as yours Fabri, beading on yours is wider, count the beads. A very nice 'slanted W' core though and good M hardware.
