Great piece, I particularly like the patina on this one.

Nice photos as usual. Great cross. That incuse 800 is interesting to me.

Can you get gun oil over there in Sweden? It's great on rust. I coat rusty cores with a thin layer using a toothbrush. It works a treat to stop new rust, and will also remove some of the loose old rust. It will also return a better color to the core.
                  Best regards,
                  Streptile

I still don't like the makers mark on these. It just doesn't look up to the quality of of the fullsized
crosses ---BUT--- I am willing to concede that these are nice original Prinzen Godets and I only
wish I had one of my one (despite the maker's mark )

                    Carl,
I know most of us would like a nice shiney looking cross but you first
photo is wonderfull. The patinaed silver and rust against the blue
background makes for a beauty of a picture.

Use gun oil too, soak Q-Tips and wooden Toothpicks in it and carefully scrape the rust off. This works best on blued/blackened/browned cores.

On painted ones it's easy to damage the paint. Often just dab those, let it work for a couple of days and dry off the excess oil.

Have not decided to keep the Godet yet, if i do the rust will be killed!

It bugs me too Greg, but Godet seems to have used a multitude of marks. Michas cross and mine are a 100% match, frames, core, hardware and 800 mark but still the 'Godet Berlin' and 'Godet' marks differ?

The 'Godet Berlin' mark is extremly small, maybe they didn't want to put a "full size EKI mark" on the back of the Prinzen, that would cover the whole backside.

Do not particularly like mint crosses either but rust is not a part of the patina imo. No proud recipient would walk around with a rusty award on his breast.

Thank's for that one Marshall! Is it yours? That seems to have another front frame than mine and Michas but all other things match? Wonder if it's a "remade die" considering the extensive die crack flaws on mine?

The 'Godet Berlin' that is found on 2.

The 'Godet' that Michas cross got.
