Vaulted EKI, any ideas of maker?

    Hi all,
Just got in this completely unmarked vaulted 1914 EKI and I was wondering if anyone knew the manufacturer of this Cross? Even though there are no marks I think the frames are real silver.

What I find interesting is the very crisp angular date, the high relief Crown and especially the W.

The Cross is beautifully factory vaulted and even the ends of the arms are gently curved.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Dave

            Wagner & Sohn, I think you're right.

I suppose they didn't mark it because it's a private purchase Cross.

Do I see a remnant of the letter "W" to the right of the hook? Maybe just a scratch or something but it kind of looks like a partial "W". Red arrow points to W, and to the right is a partial W that is shaped like what I think I'm seeing.
Weren't some of those WS's stamped very lightly? Ammersee

Marked or not, it is a beautiful cross. The TR period never came close to this quality of craftsmanship.

What's the situation here? I thought these were all marked. Is this a wartime awarded piece or a private purchase item? I agree, this is a very nice cross.

Aren't vaulted pieces all private purchase??

That's a good question. What's the conventional thinking here? Vaulted and or silver marked EKs are private purchase?

                            Hi,

I like this cross. I always learned from the forums that vaulted is privately purchased and flat is awarded. I don't know about the silver mark.

About the cross... is there paint on the inner part of the frame (photo 2-3 and 4)? Is it repainted?

                            Best regards,
                            Michel

                              No and most definitely no!
