    Flag pole badges

I would like to request some help with what I think are veterans group flag pole badges or shields. I bought these off of ebay as agroup which also included a veteran's medal for Sedan day 1895 from the town of Leisnig, Saxony so Iassume that the vets. group was also from that town. The seller was told these are from ribbons which were hung from the flag pole. That can not be correct since these badges are curved and have nail holes just like the smaller shield or badges one sees on tourist walking sticks and canes. Is any one here familiar with these and have any idea what they might be worth? I bought the lot for the medal and I would sure like to know how to record my prices paid. Thanks, Fred

    We call it Fahnennagel!

    The worth? 150-200 US$, IMO.

        Hello Fred:
I have also seen these IG flag pole plaques for $25 to $50
on the same online venue, just depends on their design,
the vet location, and date. More specialized event, or Garde
associated, have more appeal than the more typical bland
plain shield examples. I have several dozen in my own
collection, but as they are endless, I no longer buy them.

Thanks, That makes sense. Most of these were awarded "Gewidmet" by inn or tavern keepers "Gastwirte" so I guess these are on the lower part of the price curve.

IMO the better the design, the more valuable the commemorative
vet pole plaque/plate. My favorite shows FM v.Hindenburg's mug.

Here is a nice piece (with a relation to the Danziger Leibhusaren), which I found yesterday!

Thanks Fred! My main interest is in skull related items. This is my second plaque with a skull. Here is the other one from the Wehrwolf Wehrverband.
