Oh that is beautiful. I don't like crosses new and polished at all. I love a good gunmetal blue patina like yours. Any silver marks on this one, Greg? In my limited observation, the higher-grade silver tends towards this color of patina over time.

For example this is marked .925:

S-W EK1s are so consistently beautiful and delicate.
      Best regards,

        Thanks Trevor.
        No silver marks. I can't recall ever seeing a S-W Ek1 silvermarked.

            Thanks Kay.

It looks like S-W used at least 3 different cores.

Nice one, Greg, I'm like you in that I have numerous heavily worn items which other collectors would find unacceptable, but I like them

Trevor, are those striations horizontally across your EK2 or a trick of the light?

Very nice. I thought this thread was about an old girlfriend of mine, Patina.

                              Hi Adrian,

Nope, those are on the core. I may start a thread with this cross, and his brothers, later today, so I'll include some more photos.

                              Scott,

For your interest -- the second EK2 you show has this core: S-W EK1 ...and is IMO among the earliest WWI EK2s that are now known.
                              Best regards,
